Welcome to Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop software! Written for customers and partners, this document addresses issues that are not discussed in the User Guide. This document may be updated periodically as more information becomes available.

New in Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.3
Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop version 1.3 supports version 10.0 of ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop software. If your organization has users on ArcGIS 10.0, they should install Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.3.

For people who use ArcGIS 9.3, Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.2.1 continues to be available for purchase.

Capturx for ArcGIS 1.3 System Requirements
Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1 (32- and 64-bit); ArcGIS 10.0

Supported Versions of Capturx Software
Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.3 is compatible with Capturx Pen Manager 3.4 (or later) and Capturx Mobile for BlackBerry 1.6 (or later). Earlier versions are not supported.

If your organization is currently under an Adapx Software Assurance agreement, you qualify for a complimentary upgrade. To upgrade Capturx software, contact Adapx Technical Support: [email protected].

If your organization is not covered by an Adapx Software Assurance agreement, please contact your Adapx Sales representative for more details.

Installation and Uninstallation
Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.3 cannot be installed over a previous version. Please uninstall your current version of Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop before installing Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop 1.3.
Note: You must uninstall your current version of Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop before you uninstall ArcGIS 9.3. Additional details in Known Issues section below.

Known Issues

Uninstall ArcGIS 9.3 after uninstalling Capturx for ArcGIS 1.2.x
If you uninstall ArcGIS 9.3 before uninstalling Capturx for ArcGIS 1.2.x, you will see a dialog asking you to install ArcGIS 9.3 to complete the Capturx uninstall process. To avoid this issue, follow this order when upgrading:
1) Uninstall Capturx for ArcGIS 1.2.x
2) Uninstall ArcGIS 9.3
3) Install ArcGIS 10.0
4) Install Capturx for ArcGIS 1.3

Register ArcGIS SDE layers as versioned
When using ArcGIS SDE layers for the Capturx for ArcGIS software, the layers in the map document must be “Registered As Versioned” through ArcMap or ArcCatalog. Failure to register SDE layers as versioned can result in irreversible ink import into SDE. Importing Capturx pen data with ArcView is not supported
When using ArcGIS SDE layers for the Capturx for ArcGIS software, use ArcInfo or ArcEditor to print maps and import Capturx pen data into maps. Importing Capturx pen data for SDE layers via ArcView is not supported and can result in data loss.
