I docked my pen, why does Capturx Pen Manager say there is no pen docked?

Question
I docked my pen, why does Capturx Pen Manager say there is no pen docked?
Answer

Pen is in the docking station and USB is connected but pen manager shows as undocked, check to see if the pen is charged. The top battery light on the pen should be flashing green. Flashing red means the pen is out of battery and needs to be charged for 15 minutes before it will connect to a computer.

With pen docked, open Pen Control Panel / Manager. Message "No Penx Detected" with picture of the USB symbol shows on the screen.

Fix:
• Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the computer and the docking station
• Verify that the pen is docked correctly. Power light and Battery light should be green
• Verify that the two "docking" and the Pen Communication Services are started
• Try a different USB port
• Disable Virus Scan software (Symantec as an example) and test. Port (xxxxxx) needs to be opened.
• Disable Firewall Software and test
• If password protected, remove password by resetting the pen. Warning: this will remove any data stored on the pen:

o Hold tip of pen down on a blank page.
o Press in the button once and let go, but keep the pen tip on the paper.
o You should see all 3 lights on the pen flash green, wait until they flash yellow and take the pen off the page.
o Wait another 30 seconds or so until the pen buzzes 3 times and the lights are green.
o If upgraded from pen manager 2.6 to 3.X
   - Re- install pen manager 2.6, reboot, install latest pen manager version "3.X".
Do not uninstall version 2.6 before installing the latest version, as it is not necessary.
